“These surveys are carried out by an independent survey team and their findings are important if we are to constantly raise the standards of public transport,” he said. “The most recent monitoring results cover the period Spring 2011 and covers key service attributes including Punctuality, Value for Money, Helpfulness, Passenger Comfort and Cleanliness. The Passenger Charter is based on an agreement between the Department of Regional Development, Translink and the Consumer Council.I would welcome the public’s views on any aspect of public transport, bus or rail, which would provide an improved service. “I would also like to take this opportunity to express my thanks, as a public representative, to the employees of Translink who work very hard to provide a public transport service in all kinds of weather and conditions.
“This is especially true of their work in getting children to school and home safely. They really do deserve our praise and particularly in this area where the public rating is among the highest.”
