Upper Galliagh resurfacing works to take place

Sinn Fein Councillor Tony Hassan has welcomed confirmation that road resurfacing will take place following major sewerage upgrade works in Upper Galliagh.

Colr. Hassan was speaking after NI Water confirmed that the construction of a new Pumping Station in Upper Galliagh has been completed, with associated works to finish within weeks.

He said that Transport NI officials have now given assurances that the stretch of road from Woodbrook to the junction with Buncrana Road will now be resurfaced.

Colr. Hassan said: “I’ve very glad to see this programme of the pumping station works is now being completed and I also welcome the fact that the road will be resurfaced, once they work out a way to cause minimum disruption and inconvenience to residents.”

Two new wastewater pumping stations at Upper Galliagh and Knockalla will increase the capacity of the sewerage system and allow for future development.
