Two arrests in Kieran Doherty murder probe

Two people have been arrested in connection with the investigation into the murder of Kieran Doherty in February last year.

A 42 year-old man and a 40 year-old woman were arrested in Derry this morning and are being questioned at Strand Raod PSNI station.

A PSNI spokesperson said: "The arrests are in connection with the ongoing investigation into the murder of Kieran Doherty last February."

Mr Doherty's body was found on the Braehead Road on the outskirts of the city on February 24. He has been shot three times.

The Real IRA later claimed responsibility for the shooting.
