Police in Limavady say they have charged two males in connection with a street robbery in the town earlier this week.
Frances McIntyre (pictured below), aged 72, was the victim of the robbery on December 17 as she made her way home from bingo, walking down Market Street at around 9.30pm.
The well known Limavady woman, a Foyle Hospice volunteer, told the ‘Journal’ while she was uninjured, she was left badly shaken.
The males demanded money from Frances, but only got away with her reading glasses.
Limavady PSNI said on their Facebook page on Sunday two males had been charged in connection with the street robbery and had been denied bail.
“This was an unusual occurrence in Limavady and we would like to assure people that local police will not tolerate this type of behaviour. Those caught will be dealt with robustly,” said Limavady PSNI.
