A large white marquee has also been erected on site.

Up to 13,000 people are expected to converge on the site on Saturday, with some tickets still available via Ticketmaster and local outlets.

Speaking at the site, Robert Allen, Events Co-ordinator, told the Journal that everything was going according to plan.

Mr Allen said: “Preparations are going very well. We started bringing all the stuff in yesterday, the stage starts today, so it’s just a matter of getting everything in place before the weekend.

Organisers of the Club MTV concert are hoping the forecasters have got it right and the blue skies over Derry continue through until the weekend.

“The gates open at 4pm and we will have a part then.

“It’s all systems go thank goodness.

“The weather looks like it is going to be dry all week now from Wednesday onwards so it looks like we are going to have a good day anyway, so happy days.”
