The Western Trust is discouraging all visiting from a Derry nursing home after confirming ten residents are being treated for a “flu-like” illness.
The Trust said while there is “no immediate concern for any particular resident” at Seymour Gardens Care Home in Nelson Drive, they have informed all families of the residents are discouraging visiting at this stage.
A spokesperson for the Trust said: “The Trust’s Infection Prevention and Control team is continuing to provide advice and increased infection control measures have been taken at the care home.
“Ten residents in total are receiving antibiotic treatment and there is no immediate concern for any particular resident. The Trust is closely monitoring the situation and has informed the Public Health Agency (PHA).”
Earlier this month six residents of the Nazareth House nursing home in Buncrana died after contracting ‘flu.
