Wanted: the original Undertones fanclubbers members

In preparation for their massive 35th Anniversary Tour, legendary Derry band The Undertones have appealed for members of their original fan club, the Rocking Humdingers Club, to get in touch.

The band is keen to reacquaint themselves with members of the club, which ran from 1981 until 1983, and have promised the first 50 who get in touch free entry into a show of their choice on their ten-date April 2011 Tour, a free copy of the record and a fabulous tour t-shirt.

Undertone Mickey Bradley told the ‘Journal’: “We recently came across the original membership book containing the names of the Rocking Humdingers and thought it would be good to make contact again. Members are invited to come along to our shows when the tour kicks off in April. It’s just our way of thanking all the people who were in our fan club for all those years - and if anyone out there has the original fan-club card, let us know through our website too.”

The Rocking Humdingers Club was a fairly short lived affair with the first member enrolled in April 1981 and the last in December 1982 prior to the band splitting up in 1983. Members received a membership card and members badge, along with regular newsletters.

So if you are a former member of the Rocking Humdingers Club, email: andy@theundertones.com with the name you registered with, and your membership number. The band will let you know if you are one of the lucky first 50.

The Undertones’ April tour will coincide with the release of a new double CD of their greatest A and B sides, reissued by Union Square Music on April 4.
