Wear red to help combat coronary heart disease

People in Derry have been urged to wear red on February 24 to help combat coronary heart disease.

The British Heart Foundation (BHF) say the disease kills around 100 people every year in Derry and urges everyone to get involved with fundraising.

Gary Wilson, Fundraising Volunteer Manager at BHF says: “Most of us know someone affected by heart disease - that’s why we’re asking everyone to go Red for Heart and raise funds.

“One really easy way to get involved is to join in Wear Red Day on Friday 24 February, when we’re asking groups of friends and colleagues to join in for a suggested donation of £1 each.

“Please help, we need your donations or time and money now.”
