Brides both past and present are encouraged to bring along their wedding photographs to the Roe Valley Arts and Cultural Centre/ Ionad Ealaíon agus Cultúir Ghleann na Ró on Saturday, 14 April between 11am and 1pm to participate in a wedding reminiscence session inspired by the extremely popular Wedding Belles exhibition.
Led by Victoria Newberry, Museum/Heritage Officer, who curated the Wedding Belles exhibition, the session will give participants the chance to be part of a follow-up exhibition called The Wedding Album which sees wedding photographs taking centre stage.
Miss Newberry said, “Having seen the Wedding Belles exhibition, many people have commented how they would have liked to contribute in some way. This session will give people the chance to do this. I will be scanning photographs that people bring in and a selection of these will be included in The Wedding Album exhibition. I will also be recording people’s memories for inclusion in the exhibition and on the Northern Ireland Community Archive website.”
The session will also include a guided tour of the Wedding Belles exhibition, which is on display until Saturday, 28 April.
