The local health authority has launched a new website to give patients up-to-date information on services to patients and the public.

The Western Health and Social Care Trust’s (Western Trust) new site at www.westerntrust.hscni.net, also features an A to Z of the Trust’s frontline services, signposting and contact information, the latest Trust health news, public events, key staff and service profiles, hospital maps and feedback details.

Speaking about the new website, Chairman of the Western Trust, Gerard Guckian, said: “It is important that the Trust has an effective, appealing and user-friendly website in order to inform and interact with all our service users. People from Limavady to Lisnaskea, from the comfort of their own homes to busy shopping centres can now access important information about health and social care services in the Western Trust area.”

Western Trust Chief Executive, Elaine Way added: “More and more people are choosing to access information online. The new look site is designed with this in mind. For many people the first port-of-call for seeking information is now the internet, so we appreciate the benefits a new website will have for our patients, staff, and the public across the Western Trust area.”

According to the Trust the website is still evolving and will continue to evolve around the needs of patients, clients and the general public. The Trust plans through time to produce and upload video clips, make use of social media networks and offer increased opportunities for people to interact online through the Trust site.

The site includes a website feedback form. The Trust is keen to hear from the general public and would welcome feedback as it continues to develop the content, the structure and the features that the site will offer into the future. Members of the public are being urged to complete the website form and give their views on the new website.
