Wetherspoon sells Derry pubs to the Granny Annie's Group

Wetherspoon has confirmed it has sold its pub at The Diamond, as well as The Ice Wharf pub in Strand Road.

Wetherspoons pub is located in The Diamond.

The Derry pubs are two of five in Northern Ireland that the company has sold to The Granny Annie’s Group.

They will continue to run them as pubs and staff at the pubs will be transferred to the new owner so there will be no job losses.

Wetherspoon founder and chairman Tim Martin said: “We understand that our loyal customers at The Diamond and The Ice Wharf will be disappointed with the decision to sell the pubs.

“However, as a company we have to make commercial decisions and it was decided to sell the pubs.”
