This Thursday, December 15, sees the World Première of Atmos Productions ‘Rich Coast’ , an independently financed film shot in both Derry and Belfast.
Two years in the making, the film is finally ready to screen before being sent to festivals worldwide. The premiere will take place in the Context Gallery at the Playhouse on Artillery Street, Derry.
The film centres on a successful independent coffee shop in Derry called ‘Rich Coast Coffee’. After an offer from a corporate company to buy them out, tensions form between the employees. Some believe it to be against the ethos of the coffee shop while others see it as a natural progression.
As tensions rise the employees are pushed to their limits. This is the first feature film by writer/director Colm S. Herron.
Along with the original score written and performed by Colin Norrby, the soundtrack also features music from Balkin Alien Sound, John Deery and the Heads and Ronan Kearney - who also plays the lead character of Dan.
Also starring in the film are Richard Hughes as John, Colin Norrby as Ed, Colm S. Herron as Jay, Eoghan Mc Bride as Suit, Ed Flanaghan as Big Gun and Kyron Bourke as the Lecturer. The film was produced by Michael O’Neill, with Danny Armstrong as Director of Photography.
Complimentary wine, beer and food will be served before and after the screening. Entry fee is £3 and donations welcome. All proceeds will go towards the funding of Atmos Productions’ next film.
It all takes place in the Context Gallery in the Playhouse this Thursday night, December 15.
Doors open at 7.30pm.
