The ten-year-old auditioned for a coveted part in the iconic show in Sligo recently at which he met host Ryan Tubridy.

Earlier this week, he found out he had been chosen from hundreds of other children across the country and is understood to be over the moon.

Patrick, the son of Denver and Jeanette Gill from Cockhill is already making quite the name for himself in the Hip Hop Dance style of ‘popping’ and recently took the All Ireland title in that genre. It is not known as yet what he will perform on the toy show, so viewers will have to tune in to find out.

The Late Late Show performance will be Patrick’s second TV appearance so far this year.

He recently featured on RTE2’s ‘Pop Up Popstar’ in which he created a music and dance video with renowned choreographer AJ O’Neill.

On that occasion, Patrick, a pupil at St. Oran’s National School, told the ‘Journal’ how he finds performing ‘fun and exciting.’ Patrick has been dancing from a young age and has been trained and encouraged by his teacher Clare McCarron and peers at Elite Dance Academy in Buncrana.

The Late Late Toy Show airs on Friday, 27th November on RTE 1.
