Four years on since the last Assembly elections, Derry City Council area still has the highest unemployment rate in the North; dissident Republicans in our community are more vocal and more threatening than anywhere else; the promised radiotherapy unit at Altnagelvin has been sacrificed on the altar of party politics; a question mark hangs over the future of secondary education.
My family and I – and the Foyle constituency - have been failed by Stormont’s dysfunctional system of government. Thank God for the emergence of an independent candidate Paul McFadden. At least I’ve a reason to vote, instead of staying at home.
