I read that Chief Inspector Jon Burrows is being replaced as Derry police chief and on the same page I read he is behind a number of sucessful operations and crime in Derry is at its “lowest in a decade”.
We deserve a rationale for this decision - this is supposed to be new, open and accountable policing!
My family live in Bishop Street and I know the madness at the interface there has virtually disappeared since the culprits’ pictures were put in the paper.
It is good to see what the cops are at now and see them explaining to us what they are doing. And to see them as passionate (unless he is a good actor) about our city and its people as we are.
