The 2009 Gasyard Wall Feile programme was launched on Wednesday and as always offers the best in musical entertainment not to mention its exciting and diverse range of arts, culture, health, well being and family events from Friday,24 July to Sunday, 2 August 2009.
Feile's music and arts programme showcases a range of musical styles and artforms from around the world including the legendary Bouncin' to Summer Soul which makes its debut at this year,s Feile on Saturday, 1 August.
Also playing will be Mark Black
and the roots band, fresh from their Glastonbury Festival appearance, at Sandinos back Bar on Friday July 31st.
Feile Finale, Feile's end of festival party is headlined by Dublin rockers and Meteor Nominees The Coronas, fresh from the 2009 Oxegen main stage. The band's debut album Heroes or Ghosts was described by Hot Press as "walking a soulful line between Jeff Buckley and the Libertines" and has been lodged in the Irish charts since its release. The Coronas will be joined by Feiles 2009 Battle of the Band Winners and special guests.
Speaking at the launch, Eavan King, Gasyard Feile Coordinator said:"We are delighted to present our 2009 Gasyard Feile programme and we're really looking forward to the festival itself.
"Our community has been working very hard over the last number of months to bring the best possible programme that we can for the people of the local areas and the city.
"The festival celebrates its 16th birthday this year and the underlying theme of Feile is 'global'.
"We want people to celebrate all of our local communities, our creative and cultural traditions and our place in the world."
