At the time of writing, Steve Staunton is still hanging on by his fingernails as Republic of Ireland football manager after the Cyprus debacle.
I was reminded of a wonderful story about a group of likely lads from Inishowen who went to Prague for the Czech Republic match last month and while contemplating the painful removal of 'Stan's' fingernails, decided to visit the famous Prague Torture Museum (see attached Prague billboard ad).

On the way out after enjoying the grisly medieval methods of racking, de-limbing and worse, they were invited to sign the visitors' book and one lifelong Ireland supporter wrote: "No torture in here compares with four days with 'Big Mickey Ned' (not his real name) but next time you're in the beautiful city of Prague, you can see the real name for yourselves.

If he's that bad, surely John Delaney must consider him for the Staunton position. And no…it wasn't Eddie Mahon!
