The Deputy Mayor of Derry has called for traffic calming measures to be introduced at a busy junction in the Bogside area.
Sinn Féin Councillor Patricia Logue said the junction of Westland Street and Lone Moor Road is one of the busiest in the city and said traffic calming measures would make it safer.

"The junction at the top of Westland Street is one of the busiest and also dangerous junctions in the city and I have called for traffic management measures to be implemented that would alleviate the problem.

"This junction is the main gateway into the Creggan Estate, a bus route, as well as having several schools and a shopping complex close by and needs proper traffic management so that the safety of pedestrians and road users is ensured," she said.
