A Sinn Féin member of the local District Policing Partnership board says she is surprised the new Foyle policing plan has no provision for tackling the city's drug problem.
Colr. Maeve McLaughlin says she raised her concerns with local police officers at last week's meeting of the DPP board.

"Sinn Féin was surprised that, when we viewed the policing Plan for the Foyle district, there was no provision to combat the growing scourge of drugs. We addressed this problem by ensuring that adequate resource will be committed to dealing with drugs.

"However, there are other problems that affect the communities that must also be highlighted and addressed. That is why it is important that people attend the DPP meetings to put forward their views."
