Calling all runners and walkers and friends to support the Alzheimer's Society, Donegal Branch, which is one of the nominated charities for this year's North West Charity 10k walk on Sunday, 3rd May in Letterkenny.
The money raised through this event will be used entirely within Donegal. The Donegal Branch provides 75,000 hours per year of home respite and day care, helping some of the families of the almost 2,000 Alzheimer sufferers in Donegal. About 40 famil

A dance will take place in aid of Alzheimer's Unit, Carndonagh in the Ballyliffin Lodge and Spa Hotel on Frdiay, 24th April with music by Two K Country. Tickets cost 10 euro. For further information contact Gerard Davenport, Convent Road, Carndonagh as soon as possible.
The main sports hall of Quigley's Point Community Centre and several other rooms are available for hire. They are suitable for meetings, old-time dancing, modern dancing, music, singing, drama, crafts, sewing, knitting, playing cards, feiseanna, workshops, bowling, football, badminton, basketball and many other functions. The main hall is available at a fee of 20/25 euro per hour depending on heat and electricity. The smaller rooms are available at a fee of 15/20 euro per hour. Booking made for 2 hour blocks will receive a reduction. There is also a fully furnished IT suite available for hire, possibly for computer sessions. Those running volunteer classes for the community can do so at a fee or 2/3 euro per person, depending on numbers, i.e. badminton, fatbusters, youth club, local football (indoor or outdoor).
