A very successful 'Night at the Races' was held last Friday night in Callaghan's Bar Quigley's Point.
The staggering amount of 8,700 euro was raised for the Donegal Hospice and the Oncology Ward in Letterkenny Hospital, in memory of Jimmy Lafferty, Cloghan, Quigley's Point.
The Lafferty and McColgan families would like to thank everyone who support
ed them for this event, to all the sponsors, to everyone who donated money and prizes, and everyone who bought horses and helped in any way to make this night such a huge success.
Albert Doherty, Whitecastle, will be running a concert night in Greenbank Hall, Quigley's Point tonight. The concert will commence at 8 p.m. and there will be plenty of entertainment with an array of musicians. Refreshments will also be provided and Albert will be showing a few slides and giving a talk on his recent visit to Africa. Everyone is welcome to come along and enjoy the fun.
Inishowen Romanian Fund Annual Auction will be held in Mary Deeney's, on 1st December commencing at 9 p.m. Anyone who wishes to donate unwanted items such s furniture, kitchen appliances, home-baking, T.V.'s, DVD players, machinery, foodstuffs etc. can contact Mickey on 087 2121789 or Marty on 087 2681302. These items can be collected throughout Inishowen and Derry. All donations will be very much appreciated as will your attendance at the auction. Once again a big thank you to everyone who has been so generous through the years.
There was no jackpot winner last week in the Quigley's Point Community Centre/R.C.D. mini lotto draw. The winning numbers were 12,15,17,19 and the four 15 euro winners were Liam Quigley, c/o Callaghan's Bar, Anthony McLaughlin, Fernbank, Emma and Ryan Doherty, Clar and Michael Havlin, Tullyally, Redcastle. The jackpot tonight will be 3,125 euro.
Santa is coming to the Apostolic Christmas Bazaar in St. Mary's Hall, Muff, on Sunday, 2nd December commencing at 3 p.m. Santa will be collecting all letters on that day. More details later.

Moville and District Mental Health Association will be holding their Christmas Social in Foody's Lodge, Quigley's Point, on Sunday, 2nd December from 3p.m. - 7p.m. Afternoon tea will be served and raffle and spot prizes galore. Admission is 5 euro.
Items for inclusion in the Quigley's Point Notes must now be received by 12 noon on Tuesdays because of new printing deadlines.
