Sad passing of Phil Doherty

There was widespread sadness at the recent death of Phil Doherty, Greenbank who passed away after a lengthy illnes. His funeral took place in St. Columba's Church, Drung. Requiem Mass was celebrated by Fr. Tony Mailey and burial took place in the adjoining cemetery.

Sympathy is extended to Phil's sisters Annie, England, Bridie, England and Mary, England, Teresa, Scotland and his brother Hugh, England and to his many friends and family circle. May he rest in peace.
The Christmas lights at Steeles' house (half
a mile outside Moville on the Carndonagh Road) in aid of Inishowen Special Needs will be switched on by Lorraine Burke. Lorraine competed in the Equestrian event at the Special Olympics in China. The switch on will take place tomorrow at 7.30 p.m.
There was no jackpot winner last week in the Quigley's Point Community Centre/ R.C.D. Limited mini lotto draw. Winning numbers were 2, 13, 15, 20 and the four 15 euro winners were Ron, Rullynavin, Rose Havlin, Tullyally, Catherine McConway, Lemacrossan and Trevor Norris, Ballykelly. The jackpot is now 3,200 euro.
Inishowen Romanian Fund Annual Auction will be held in Mary Deeney's Bar tomorrow night at 9 p.m. Anyone who wishes to donate unwanted items such as furniture, kitchen appliances, home baking, T.V.s etc. can contact Mickey, 087 2121789 or Marty on 087 2681302. All donations are very much appreciated as would a good attendance at the auction. The committee would like to thank everyone who has been so generous over the years.
Moville and District Mental Health Association will be holding their Christmas Social in Foody's Lodge, Quigley's Point this Sunday from 3-7 p.m. Afternoon tea will be served and there will be a raffle and spot prizes galore. Admission is 5 euro.
Next Friday, 7th December the Annual Sale in Knowhead Church Hall will take place at 7.30 p.m. The usual items will be featured, cakes, home made and grown produce, Christmas gifts. etc. Teas and jellies will be available. Everyone welcome.
North West Busways have a bus organised from Inishowen to Belfast and Junction One on Saturday, 8th December for Christmas shopping. Contact 07493 82619 or 074 9382116 as soon as possible.
Muff Community Development Co-Op is seeking staff for the Community Services programme. The following part-time/flexible vacancies are available in Muff and Quigley's Point Community Centres: Financial Administrator for Muff, Community Services Assistant for Muff and caretaker/maintenance workers for Muff and Quigley's Point. There will be a bus going to Knock for an all night vigil on 7th December for the Feast of the Immaculate Conception. The bus will leave Moville at 4 p.m. and will cost 30 euro per person which wil linclude evening meal. Telephone 9382442 or 9382116 to book.
St. Mary's Hall, Muff is the place to be this Sunday when the Annual Christmas Bazaar will take place. As in other years there will be fantastic prizes at the Rickety Wheel and also the usual stalls, including a bottle stall, white elephant and cake stall. Santa will make a personal appearance at 4 p.m. All money made will go to the Missions. Tickets for a raffle are on sale from committee members, priced at 2 euro per strip. First prize is a hamper, 2nd Christmas cake and 3rd large tin of sweets.
The Carndonagh Parents' Committee invite everyone to come and support their Annual Christmas Bingo on Sunday, 9th December in the Community School at 3 p.m. Usual side prizes on every line and prizes galore. Admission is 10 euro.
The James Connolly Day Centre, Carndonagh will have a table at the car boot sale tomorrow. A wide selection of home made Christmas cakes, puddings, flowers arrangements, etc. will be on sale. There will be a raffle for a Christmas hamper. Please support.
Glentogher N.S. Annual Bazaar will be held in the school on Sunday 16th at 2.30 p.m. Loads of excellent prizes. Everyone welcome.
A monster Christmas Bazaar and car boot sale will be held on Sunday, 2nd in Bocan Hall at 2 p.m. All kinds of everything for sale and stalls galore. Admission is free.
