Special anniversaries celebrated
It was a privilege and honour for me as Mayor of this City and district to once more represent the people at a number of significant anniversaries and to meet the people who contributed to the success of the remarkable organisations and institutions
Challenging time for Derry City
This is the 35th anniversary of the establishment of the Samaritans in Derry. I had the privilege to welcome representatives of this excellent organisation to the Guildhall.
Halloween spectacular showcases city to world
Once again the Foyle Halloween carnival was a resounding success. In excess of 20,000 people participated in what is now recognised as the biggest Halloween festival in Europe.
The economy, arts and the city's cultural trail
I attended the Chamber of Commerce annual dinner on Friday night where President of the Chamber, Jim Sammon, outlined clearly the magnitude of the challenge facing us in the task of reinvigorating the local economy in the North West.
