5 fun things to do in Dublin

Advertorial Feature

Dublin is a place on many people’s travel wishlist, and once you arrive it’s easy to see exactly why this vibrant city is so popular. The hotels in Dublin are full of tourists waiting for their first taste of Guinness or hoping to walk the corridors of academia at Trinity College and it’s difficult not to get caught up in the atmosphere of this beautiful place.

So if you’ve always wanted to visit Dublin, but have never had the chance, why not plan your trip today? Get online, book your Travelodge and enjoy this list of five great things to do in Dublin while you wait!

1. Try life behind bars

We don’t mean run into some trouble after a few too many pints of Guinness, but visiting Kilmainham Gaol (jail to you and I) is a great way to start off your trip. You can take a guided tour through this prison that is full of history after being opened in 1796, but beware, be prepared to here some dark tales about the former inmates.

2. Take a look around Trinity College

No trip to Dublin is complete without a visit to the stunningly picturesque grounds and campus of Ireland’s most famous academic establishment – Trinity College. Right slap, bang middle in the hustle and bustle of Dublin, you can walk the same paths famous alumni strode back in the day, and be sure to check out the Old Library if you’re a book lover.

3. Do as the locals do

There’s no better way to immerse yourself in a culture than to do as the locals do, so find yourself a nice pub and just watch the world go by. A pint of Guinness is a must when visiting Dublin (it really does taste better in Ireland) while sampling the local food and finding a bar with a decent Irish band will have you feeling like a Dubliner in no time.

There’s plenty more to do in Dublin and this list is merely scratching the surface, but then again, if you don’t get around to doing everything the city has to offer – there’s a great reason to visit again!
