Kevin Lynch’s had a home game against Banagher last Friday in the senior hurling league. The final score – 2-11 to 1-13 - reflected the tempo of the game which was dictated by the referee and halted on too many occasions for mild infringements. Banagher got on to the score sheet first and went a couple of points up but from then on both teams traded scores and the half time score read 2-5 to 0-8 in Kevin Lynch’s favour. The second half continued as a close affair, aided by a goal from Oisin McCloskey but Banagher were unable to edge in front and at the final whistle were one point behind. Team: Darrel McDermott, Christopher Guy, Sean Marty Lockhart, Christopher Crossan, Ruairi McCloskey, Sean McCullagh, Darragh MCloskey, Ciaran Lynch, Gearoid O’Neill, Oisin Mc Closkey(1-0), Eoin Biggs, Stefan McCloskey(0-1), Shane Farren 0-12 (7f, 2 x 65s), Christopher O’Neill, Tiarnan McCloskey. Subs used: N Farren for C Guy; Garrie Stevenson for C O’Neill.
The Gear Shop is open on Tuesday nights from 8pm – 9pm.
The senior footballers are in action in a must win championship match against Magilligan at Faughanvale tomorrow with a 2.00pm throw-in. Following the ‘Seasiders’ win against Dolans last week, Magilligan can comfortably sit with a semi-final berth already booked. For us this is ‘must win’ to join them in the last four. Discipline and self belief will important ingredients if we are to achieve our targets. All support welcome in what should be an intense local derby. With so much at stake ill-discipline at this stage will eliminate any offender for the rest of the championship which will be in both managers minds. Intriguing indeed!
Next Friday has been set as the date for the Under 14 ‘C’ Championship final. With a time and venue to be decided, we would encourage all Glack Gaels to turn out and support our first underage camoige team to contest a championship final.
The minors season finished disappointingly on Monday night last in Craigbane in the championship. Other distractions on the night didn’t help the lads who turned up to give their all for St. Michaels.
There will be a Social in the clubhouse on August 3rd.

Steelstown Brian Ogs
There will be no U10 training tomorrow as we will be on our summer break. There will be no training until after our summer camp.
Our minors played their first championship match on Monday night when they hosted Doire Trasna at Pairc Bríd. The visitors had a good opening 10 minute spell but shot four wides before Ruairi McKeever slotted over his first free for Steelstown. The home side then went three points up before Thomas McCrossan replied for Pearses. Both sides exchanged points and Steelstown nerves were settled when McKeever dispatched a penalty to leave Brian Ógs ahead at half-time on a score of 1-5 to 0-3. Pearses had a very good third quarter and despite James Corry’s early point, they closed the gap to four points. But the game was closed out when debutant full-forward, Colm Cregan, beat his marker and cooly found the bottom left-hand corner of Caolan Harkin’s net. Niall Doherty added two long-range points to leave the full-time score, Brian Ógs 2-11Doire Trasna 0-9. The midfield pairing of Ryan McCloskey and Eoin O’Hare were outstanding for the winners. Others to catch the eye were Ciaran Flanagan, Ciaran Rigney and Pearse Bradley. Steelstown: J.Morrison, T.O’Kane, R.Kehoe, C.Rigney, R.Campbell (0-1), C.Flanagan, A.Deane. R McCloskey, E.O’Hare, R.McKeever(1-5), J.Corry(0-1), N.Doherty(0-2), T.Melaugh, C.Cregan(1-0), P.Bradley (0-2). Subs. C.J.Martin, D.O’Doherty, L.Casey, E.Deane, S.O’Connor.
