What’s happening around the GAA clubs

The Faughanvale Youth Committee are holding a guest-tea in St. Anne’s Hall on Sunday, October 28th. If you wish to book a table, contact Jean Donaghey, Siobhan McElhinney or Paul Bradley.

The Under 13s have now played three games against Drum, Dungiven ‘B’ and Steelstown, winning the first two games convincingly and losing narrowly to Steelstown. This very young team has shown great improvement with each game and have worked hard to secure their current mid-table spot. Outstanding performances to date have been made by Anthony McGinnis, Ciaran Feeney and Curtis O’Hara with Eoin Devine working hard also. Some of the young players have also caught the eye with great defending from Caomhan Campbell and Conan Murray playing well up front. Three games remain in this league.

All our coaches would encourage our underage players to get on to their respective school teams to maintain their fitness and skill levels before the start of next season. We hope to organise our youth presentations towards the end of November or start of December for players up to U14 level. As the season draws to a close for most teams the coaches would like to express their appreciation to our underage players for their commitment throughout the year and look forward to achieving greater things next season.
