Sean Dolan’s v Doire Trasna

There’s always a keen rivalry between these two sides, the return of Ciaran Wilkinson after a year out through injury a welcome boost to the Piggery Ridge 15. Doire Trasna struggled in the Intermediate grade, due to injuriy and player unavailability last year but will have no problem competing in the junior ranks and should be among the front runners. A close game which could swing either way.

Drum v Doire Colmcille

Doire Colmcille will be without Emmett McBride, Mark Chambers and Andrew Coyle who have lodged transfer requests away from the club. Without this trio they could struggle against a Drum side that won the Junior championship last year after flattering to deceive in the league. Drum will want to improve on their league performances from last year but it could be another long season for Colmcille.

Magilligan v Magherafelt Thirds

The Rossa have been a force at this level for the last couple of seasons but could find it difficult against a Magilligan side that will have former Limavady speedster Ricky Clarence in their side. Magilligan could be a threat this season.

Ardmore v Bellaghy Thirds

Ardmore were there or thereabouts last year, reaching five finals, and, even though they had difficulty getting a manager at the start of the season, they will be among the front runners for promotion. The Tones will have plenty of experience and will surely test the Black and Amber to the limit.
