Summer 2012 is nearly upon us which means the Ulster Championship season again swings into action and, as is now customary, Club Derry will be holding its annual pre-championship evening in the build-up to the opener in Ballybofey.
This year’s event will take place at the Oak Leaf Restaurant Maghera on Wednesday, June 13th at 8pm, and is again generously sponsored by ASM chartered accountants.
Events on the evening will include the naming of the Derry senior football team to face Donegal in the Ulster Quarter Final by manager John Brennan, as well as the presentation of ‘Achievement Awards’ to those from the Oak Leaf County who captured national titles over the previous year.
Persons interested in joining Club Derry are also very welcome to attend the evening. Simply email firstname.lastname@example.org or call Owenbeg Derry GAA Centre on (028) 777 42990 to reserve your place.
“Club Derry would like to take this opportunity to thank all people who contributed to fund raising efforts over the past 12 months in any way,” added a spokesperson.
“No-one needs reminding about the uncertainty in the wider economy and the challenges posed. However, with uncertainty comes increased opportunity, and it is with such support that Derry GAA can continue to invest in key strategic initiatives which will underpin our success in future years.”
