Abercorn gain upper hand in race for Premier Division title

OXFORD United Stars stunned reigning champions, Top of the Hill Celtic on Sunday when recording a narrow victory as Abercorn took outright leadership after defeating Don Bosco’s.

Also in the top flight Trojans recorded a narrow away win against Lisahally and Park Bar easily accounted for Culmore while, in St Columb’s Park, Tristar and Porter’s shared the spoils in a six goal thriller.

Meanwhile, in Division One, Derry City opened up a five point gap at the summit after inflicting a heavy defeat on second placed Crescent.

Elsewhere, Phoenix defeated Campbell’s in an action-packed match which produced 11 goals and Rocking Chair and A.O.H. Harps recorded comfortable wins over The Bentley and Maydown respectively.

Finally Ballymoor defeated Killea while Strand United claimed victory over City Herald.
