Celtic Swifts unable to field against Flowers!

Last Thursday night Derry & District F.A. Premier Division side, Celtic Swifts, were unable to field against title challengers, Three Flowers and, as a result, Three Flowers have been awarded the points to take the title race into the final league match this Sunday.

Meanwhile, in the two McAlinden Cup second round ties, Don Bosco’s were held 1-1 by Lisahally before the Creggan side advance following a penalty shoot-out.

Abercorn, thanks to a goal from Kevin Nixon, defeated a gallant Culmore team. However, the quality of this match was overshadowed by an accidental collision invovling Culmore defender, Robbie Deane, who had to be transported to hospital.

Everyone associated with the Derry & District Football Association wish Robbie a speedy recovery and we look forward to seeing the player in action in the Premier Division next season.
