Derry City will host Pat Fenlon’s Shamrock Rovers in the EA Sports Cup Quarter-Final after the draw which took place this afternoon in Dublin.

The sides met last Friday in a dour, scoreless league encounter but both Fenlon and Derry manager Peter Hutton will be expected to make a number of changes for the game which is likely to place at Brandywell Stadium on Tuesday, May 19th. Record 11-times winners, City will be seeking to stop Rovers who are bidding to reach a fourth successive League Cup final appearance

The remainder of the draw sees holders Dundalk facing a trip to Munster Senior League side UCC, who have already defeated two SSE Airtricity League sides – Wexford Youths and Cobh Ramblers – on their way to the last eight.

Cork City, who last won the competition in the 1998-99 season, have been drawn at home to St Patrick’s Athletic while Galway United will have home advantage against Bohemians, who previously lifted the trophy in 2009.

The quarter-finals are scheduled for Monday, May 18, and Tuesday, May 19, and will be played to a finish on the night with provision for extra-time and penalties.
