The City faithful are hopeful of a good campaign for Declan Devine's side who have brought back local duo Danny Lafferty and David Parkhouse to the Brandywell.
It's also a big season for young goalkeeper Nathan Gartside, who received a shock call up to Ian Baraclough's Northern Ireland squad for next week's World Cup qualifying games against Italy and Bulgaria and Derry fans are hoping he has an impressive year between the sticks.

With a young squad and attacking football on the horizon it’s going to be something a bit different in comparison to previous. Going to the games on Friday night to watch the local lads with your mates is great. I’d say I’m probably looking forward to the returns of David Parkhouse and Danny Lafferty.
2. Barry Owens
I can’t wait for the season to start and I especially can’t wait to get back to the Brandywell, so bring it on. Thankfully this season Decky (Devine) has brought in boys who know what the club is all about and, more importantly, most of the squad is now on two or three year contracts.
3. Bernard 'Bee' Kelly
Disappointed with last season is an understatement but I’m hoping Derry City can get a good run this year. The biggest thing I’m looking forward to is getting back into the Brandywell. As a former goalkeeper, I’m looking forward to seeing how Nathan Gartside gets on and if Jack Lemoignan can push him for that No. 1 spot.

Hope always springs eternal at this time of year - there's nothing quite like the anticipation of a new season no matter how you might feel about the team's prospects. No matter what I can't wait for things to get started, it'll be great to have local football back. There's a lot of decent new young players in the squad this year but as ever Derry's chances of success rely on a steady stream of goals, so David Parkhouse is the man I'm most looking forward to seeing.
