The Candystripes got back to winning ways last night with a 4-1 away win over Monaghan United.

David McDaid opened the scoring nine minutes after the break, and three goals in the last five minutes - a Stephen McLaughlin penalty, and a goal apiece from Patrick McEleney and Rory Patterson, after Conor Murphy had pulled one back for the homeside - ensured Derry took the spoils.

The win was Derry’s first in seven league games.
