DERRY City manager, Peter Hutton has revealed the club have completed the signing of talented winger, Stephen Dooley tonight.

The former Coleraine midfielder, who has recently returned from a short spell in Baltimore in the United States, has become the second signing of Hutton’s managerial reign, following in the footsteps of Phillip Lowry.

Confirming the move, Hutton said he was delighted to get the Portstewart man on board. “I’m delighted that we’ve managed to sign Stephen Dooley so he’ll come into the squad now.

“I was delighted to get young Stephen,” he added. “There were a number of clubs after his signature. He’s a young player that I’ve kept an eye on for a few years since he first exploded onto the scene with Coleraine as a youngster.

“He was very, very good and he then went to America on a scholarship. I watched him then again when he came back at Christmas time with Coleraine. He played two games for them and made a huge impact in those two games so he’ll be a great addition to the squad.”
