PETER Hutton has added Portstewart native, Stephen Dooley to his squad for the 2015 campaign, the winger re-signing for Derry City for another season.
The former Coleraine midfielder, who became Hutton’s second signing as City boss last June, had been on trial with Skybet League Two side, Wycombe Wanderers prior to Christmas.
He netted twice (against Bray in the league and Malahide in the FAI Cup) during his 21 games for the ‘Candy Stripes’ last year.
Dooley (22) had been playing college football in Baltimore in the United States where he was studying and had impressed Hutton when he played two games for Coleraine over the Christmas period last season, prior to signing with Derry City last summer.
His signing will give Derry fans a significant boost as he follows in the footsteps of Aaron Barry, Mark Timlin and Barry McNamee in re-signing with the club.
Dolley will join up with new signings, Cillian Morrison, goalkeeper, Shaun Patton and the rest of the Derry City squad for pre-season training next Friday.
