DERRY CITY will travel to Ballybofey to face North West rivals and Premier Division newcomers, Finn Harps on the opening day of the 2016 Airtricity League season on Friday, March 4th.

Kenny Shiels’ troops then welcome 2015 FAI Cup finalists and league runners-up Cork City to Brandywell for their first home match of the season on March 11th.

An away trip to the Carlisle Grounds to face Bray Wanderers and a home clash against Galway United follow.

Ex-Derry City striker, Patrick McEleney then faces his old club for the first time when league champions Dundalk host Derry on April 1st before a tricky meeting against Shamrock Rovers at home the following week.

The first round of the EA Sports Cup will take place on March 21 and 22 with the second round on April 18 and 19 and the quarter-Finals on May 2. The semi-finals are scheduled for August 1 and the final is on Saturday, September 17.

The second round of the Irish Daily Mail FAI Cup, when the 20 SSE Airtricity League clubs enter the competition, is scheduled for the weekend of May 22 with the third round on the weekend of August 21 and the quarter-finals on the weekend of September 11.

The semi-finals will take place on the weekend of October 2nd and the final is at the Aviva Stadium on Sunday, November 6th.

The mid-season break will take place from Monday, June 6 until Thursday, June 23 inclusive. The Premier Division season will conclude on Friday, October 28.
