Derry City have snapped up the signature of former St Patrick’s Athletic striker, Mark Quigley (29) this morning on a short term deal.

The former U21 Republic of Ireland international had experienced a frustrating time at the Saints last season as he was dogged by a long-standing back injury. But Quigley underwent surgery on his back late last year and is determined to get his career back on track at Brandywell Stadium.

Quigley is expected to replace Anthony Elding in leading the Derry City frontline and team boss, Peter Hutton will, no doubt, be hoping the Dubliner will be able to replicate his scoring record at former League of Ireland clubs.
