MICHAEL Duffy has completed his transfer to Scottish Premier League champions Celtic tonight in a deal which is set to earn Derry City over £100,000.

The 20-years-old winger has signed what’s understood to be a three year contract with the ‘Bhoys’ after passing a medical at Parkhead and agreeing personal terms.

The Candy Stripes are also set to benefit from several contractual ‘add-ons’ which are understood to include a sell-on payment should he move on from Celtic Park.

With the British Transfer Window closing at 11 p.m. tonight (Monday) Derry boss, Peter Hutton will now be restricted to looking for players currently out of contract or indeed, those tied to League of Ireland clubs if he is to strengthen his squad with the extra finance now made available.
