Derry City received a last minute boost at lunch time with the news that new signing Philip Lowry has been cleared to take part in tonight’s Europa League qualifier.

However given the fact that the player, who has plenty of European experience from his time spent at Linfield, lacks match practise, the Limavady man is expected to occupy a place on the Derry substitute’s bench.

Lowry’s international clearance came through today allowing Hutton the option to hand the former Institute man his Derry City debut against Welsh opposition, Aberystwyth Town in tonight’s first leg clash at Brandywell.

Midfielder, Stephen Dooley, who signed for the ‘Candy Stripes’ last week, will not be involved.
