Paddy McCourt is expected to make his debut for Notts County this Saturday against Fleetwood Town after signing for the League One side on an emergency loan deal from Brighton & Hove Albion at the weekend.
The N. Ireland international agreed to drop down the leagues from the Sky Bet Championship to pursue regular first team football having made just 13 appearances for the ‘Seagulls’ since signing a one year deal last summer.
Although Brighton have the option to recall McCourt after the first 28 days, the Derry man, is out of contract in the summer, therefore it’s likely he has kicked his last ball for the ‘Seagulls’.
His last appearance for Brighton was against Reading on St Stephen’s Day, shortly before Chris Hughton was appointed manager.
Although out of favour at the Championship club, McCourt was heavily involved in encouraging new ‘Seagulls signing, Beram Kayal to join the club from Celtic where he played alongside the Shantallow man for five seasons.
