GREYSTEEL Celtic caused a shock in last weekend’s Saturday Morning League Blue Riband Cup tie when defeating Collon Celtic while Westbank had to battle to avoid defeat against Foyle Harps.
Phoenix Swifts and Gransha Institute also made it through to the quarter-finals thanks to wins over Du Pont and Oxford United respectively.
Another upset was recorded when First Division representatives, Art Deco, claimed the scalp of Championship leaders, Benbradagh Colts while Creggan Swifts continued their good run of form when beating Newton Heath comprehensively.
There was also some league action and in the Premier Division Rosemount had a very good win away to Drumahoe.
In the Championship Foyle Athletic lost out to Strabane Athletic and Tamnaherin Celtic surprisingly lost at home to Sion Swifts, a result that could halt the Lettershandoney side’s title challenge.
In the First Division their was a surprise reversal for the leaders Tristar who were beaten by Hatmore Harps.
