Late strike sends Oxford Stars through to semi-finals

OXFORD United Stars progressed to the semi-finals of the Terry Kelly Memorial Cup as a last minute goal gave them a narrow victory over First Division representatives, Phoenix on Sunday.

Elsewhere in the competition, Top of the Hill Celtic cruised into the last four with victory over Abercorn and they will now play Oxford in the semi-finals.

In the Premier Division Park Bar inflicted a heavy defeat on Tristar to move into joint second with a game in hand on the leaders and Don Bosco’s moved off the bottom with a good win over Brandywell Harps.

And in the First Division leaders Derry City defeated second placed Crescent while Campbell’s recorded a convincing win over A.O.H. Harps

The cup tie between Trojans and Porter’s and the First Division match between The Bentley and Ballymoor at Prehen were called off.

Terry Kelly Cup quarter-finals - Phoenix 2, Oxford Stars 3; Top of the Hill Celtic 5, Abercorn 1.

Premier Division - Tristar 0, Park Bar 7; Don Bosco’s 4, Brandywell Harps 1; Division One - Crescent 0, Derry City 1; A.O.H. Harps 0, Campbell’s 5.
