McClean gets Ireland start

Derry’s James McClean will start for Ireland tonight, it has been confirmed.

The Sunderland winger - a fan’s favourite - will play in a four man midfield along with James McCarthy, Glenn Whelan and Aiden McGeady.

Republic of Ireland team: Westwood; McShane, O’Dea, O’Shea, Kelly; McGeady, McCarthy, Whelan, McClean; Walters, Long.
