McCourt nearing a return to football?

Former Derry City star Paddy McCourt is reportedly close to a return to football.

The 33 year-old has been without a club since parting company with Glenavon at the end of December.

Now reports are surfacing that McCourt could be set to join Finn Harps.

The League of Ireland Premier Division club will face Cabinteely in a friendly this weekend tomorrow as the Donegal Daily are reporting that the ex-Celtic winger could even feature.

Paul Hegarty, Assistant Manager at Finn Park, worked with McCourt at Derry City in 2005 and is reported to have been a significant player in the potential deal.

The new League of Ireland season begins next Friday, with Harps at home to Cork City.
