PARK BAR lifted the 2012/13 Premier Division trophy last Thursday night after a resounding victory over Don Bosco’s who were relegated as a result.

And it proved a devastating few days for Top of the Hill Celtic, who were Park Bar’s only rivals for the title right down until the last day, as they could only manage to register a share of the spoils in their match with Oxford Stars before crashing out of the McAlinden Cup on Sunday following a penalty shootout defeat to Campbell’s.

Meanwhile on Sunday, Tristar defeated Abercorn and Trojans drew with Lisahally in the only other Premier Division matches to be played.

In the first round of the McAlinden Cup, holders, Brandywell Harps defeated Phoenix while in round two of the competition Bosco’s defeated Porter’s and Culmore recorded a home victory over Strand United.

Results - Premier Division - Abercorn 2, Tristar 3; Trojans 2, Lisahally 2; Park Bar 6, Don Bosco’s 1; Top of the Hill Celtic 1, Oxford Stars 1; McAlinden Cup 1st round - Brandywell Harps 4, Phoenix 0; Campbell’s 3, Top of Hill Celtic 3 (Campbell’s won 5-4 on penalties); Second Round - Culmore 4, Strand United 2; Don Bosco’s 4, Porter’s 0,

Midweek fixtures - Tonight; McAlinden Cup second round - Trojans v Crescent (Lisnagelvin 2); Thursday; Premier Division - Tristar v Oxford Stars (St Columb’s 3).
