TOP OF the Hill Celtic were crowned Premier Division champions for a record third time on the trot when they defeated a determined Lisahally team in an entertaining clash on Sunday.
The champions’ closest rivals, Three Flowers were scheduled to play Trojans in the only other game to be played in the top flight but Trojans were unable to field a team and this matter was dealt with at last night’s meeting.
Meanwhile, in the quarter-finals of the McAlinden Cup First Division champions, Oxford Stars progressed at the expense of Tristar while Brandywell Harps defeated The Bentley and Abercorn claimed a penalty shoot-out win against Strand United.
In the other cup clash, Campbell’s were unable to field a side against Don Bosco’s, therefore Bosco’s progress to the semi-finals of the competition.
