Former Institute and Finn Harps striker, Sean McCarron will join Irish League champions, Cliftonville next month.

The Derry man was out of contract after leaving Finn Harps at the end of the League of Ireland season and is delighted to agree terms with the Belfast club.

Formerly on the books at Derry City, McCarron (23) is now looking forward to a new challenge in the Irish Premiership when the January Transfer Window opens.

He will join up with fellow Derry men, Eamon Seydak and ex-Derry City striker, David McDaid at Solitude.

Since leaving Ballybofey, McCarron was playing in the Derry & District F.A. during the League of Ireland close season with Park Bar.

He was Finn Harps’ top goalscorer with 13 goals in 2013 but injuries inhibited his 2014 campaign.

Commenting on his Facebook page, McCarron said that he was “delighted” to have signed for the North Belfast club.

“January can’t come quick enough,” said McCarron.
