Swifts, Celtic in Blue Riband Final

PHOENIX Swifts and Brandywell Celtic will battle it out in the final of the Blue Riband Cup competitions following last weekend’s semi-finals which emerged the highlight in the local Saturday Morning League programme.

Phoenix Swifts proved much to experienced when sweeping aside the challenge of First Division representatives, Drumahoe, the Rosemount men securing a 6-0 victory.

But Brandywell Celtic caused an upset when dumping Westbank United out of the competition on a 3-1 scoreline.

There was one game played in the Premier Division, Du Pont defeating Clooney to secure their Premier Division status.

In the Supplementary Cup Newton Heath, Northside Albion, Rocking Chair and Strabane all had easy passages through to the quarter-finals.
