WESTBANK UNITED will lift the Premier Division title for the first time tomorrow morning should they secure at least a share of the spoils against rivals Phoenix Swifts at the Brandywell Showgrounds.
Phoenix, however will be hopeful of spoiling the party and taking the league leaders into a play-off for the title with a win.
Creggan Swifts take on Brandywell Celtic in the only other game in the top flight in a battle to see who will fill the Champions League spot for next season.
Meanwhile, in the Supplementary Cup quarter-finals, Newton Heath face Strabane Athletic at Prehen; Top of the Hill Celtic Youth/HML take on Sion Swifts at Lisnagelvin; Northside Albion meet Foyle Athletic in St Columb’s Park and finally Rocking Chair take on Collon Celtic at Lisnagelvin.
On Tuesday night last the two Top Four semi-finals were played and Gransha Institute had to come from 3-1 down against Drumahoe to finally win the game on penalties. They met Red Star in the final last night at The Riverside Stadium.
In the Supplementary Cup HML were knocked out of the competition by Sion Swifts.
And on Wednesday night In the Premier Division, Phoenix Swifts almost saw their title aspirations fade as they had to score in the last minute of their game with Creggan Swifts to win 2-1 while Westbank United managed to stay well on course to lift the title as they defeated Du Pont 3-1.
