McAlinden Cup semi-final
Park Bar v Abercorn
If Park Bar managed to get through to the Top Four Cup final last night, Colm Cassidy’s side will still be in the hunt for a three trophy haul this season.
The draw for the McAlinden Cup has been very kind to them, therefore they will believe their name is already on this trophy for a first time.
In the first round they received a bye while in the next two rounds Killea N.C. and Don Bosco’s were unable to field teams against them.
In the league they lost once to Abercorn and then defeated them comfortably in the return fixture.
Abercorn have won this trophy in the past and are quietly confident they can lift it again this time around.
They finished fifth in the Premier Division after leading it for a time in the early part of the season.
In round one they received a bye and in the second round they defeated a good Oxford Stars team before defeating First Division side, Campbell’s in the quarter-finals.
They finished 3-3 after extra-time with them extra-time with them going through 4-3 after a penalty shootout. The longer Abercorn stop Park Bar from getting an early goal the better chance they will have of going through.
Current form points to a Park Bar victory.
